FAQ & AFTERCARE

• No hair removal creams or shaving for 3 weeks before your appointment.
• No chemical exfoliants (AHA or BHA products) 48 hours prior to waxing.
• No sunbathing, sunbeds or heat treatments for 24 hours beforehand.
• No bath oils or body lotions on the day of your treatment.
• Do gently exfoliate the skin a few days before waxing. This helps to slough off any dead skin cells and lifts the hair for better results.
• Do wear clean, loose fitting clothes to your appointment.

Please arrive for your treatment clean and smelling fresh.  When possible, shower beforehand.

You should have at least 4 weeks growth from your last wax and 3 weeks growth since your last shave to get the best results.  Don’t worry if you think it’s getting too long; it probably isn’t, and if I think it needs trimming I’ll do that before we start.

If it’s your first time – some people like to take a couple of painkillers beforehand.  Most regular waxers don’t bother but if you’re nervous it’s fine to pre-empt your treatment.  I’m an experienced waxer and will make your treatment as gentle and comfortable as possible but it’s not completely pain-free, no matter what anyone tells you!

Everyone has different results. Generally, you will see minimal regrowth within the first 3 weeks and a noticeable increase after that.  If you normally shave, it can take 2/3 waxes to stop the early, stubbly regrowth and after that, you will be smooth for much longer.  Regular waxing encourages slower and sparser regrowth.

If you want to maintain that clean and sexy feeling, I recommend you wax every 4 to 6 weeks, although we’re all different and you may find you can leave longer gaps between appointments.

Yes, you can – although you might be more sensitive to pain. As long as everything is clean and fresh there’s no reason why not.

Freshly waxed skin needs a little extra TLC, to get the best results from your wax, please follow the guidelines below.

Some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These should settle over the next 24-48 hours. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24-48 hours:

• No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only).
• No saunas, hot tubs or steam treatments.
• No tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans).
• No sport, swimming, gym work or other vigorous exercise.
• Avoid scratching, rubbing or touching the treated area.
• No sexual activity after intimate waxing.
• No deodorants, body sprays, powders or lotions on the waxed area, other than those recommended by your therapist.
• Ensure you use sunscreen on any exposed areas.
• Do wear clean, loose fitting clothes.
• Do apply an antiseptic cream regularly for the next few days, to soothe and protect the skin.
• Always wash your hands before applying any product.

Starting a few days after your appointment, gently exfoliate the skin up to 3 times a week using an exfoliating wash cloth or sugar body scrub. Moisturise the area every day to keep the skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally. Even with a thorough aftercare routine some people are just prone to ingrown hairs, however prevention is always better than cure. Ask about the products we recommend at your appointment.

Appointments and treatments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice, will be charged at 50% of the treatment cost.

Appointments and treatments cancelled or rescheduled on the day of your appointment or failure to attend your appointment, will be charged at 100% of the treatment cost.

No future appointments will be made until payment is received.
